It applies to users in the United Kingdom, European Union, European Economic Area, United States and other jurisdictions, subject to the laws applicable to the relevant processing activity and individual.

Certain sections of this Privacy Policy provide additional information for residents of particular jurisdictions. Those sections apply only where the relevant law applies to SCRIPTEASE LTD., the processing activity or the individual concerned.

This Privacy Policy does not govern the independent privacy practices of third-party services that operate under their own privacy policies, such as payment processors, app stores, analytics providers, podcast platforms or external websites.

Where you interact directly with a third-party provider, that provider may process your information as an independent controller or business under its own legal responsibilities, terms and privacy policy.

We do not use personal information for materially unrelated purposes without an appropriate legal basis or other action required by applicable law.

6. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING — UK AND EEA

Where the UK GDPR, EU GDPR or related data protection law applies, we rely on one or more appropriate legal bases.

6.1 Performance of a Contract

We may process personal information where necessary to:

  • create or manage your account;
  • provide Platinum membership;
  • provide requested services;
  • manage subscription access;
  • respond to service-related requests;
  • fulfil our obligations under our Terms of Service.

6.2 Consent

We may rely on consent for activities such as:

  • voluntary newsletter subscriptions;
  • non-essential cookies;
  • certain analytics technologies;
  • push notifications where device, platform or legal permission is required;
  • other optional processing where consent is appropriate.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time.

Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

6.3 Legitimate Interests

We may process information where necessary for legitimate interests, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.

These interests may include:

  • operating and improving REJ.World;
  • maintaining service security;
  • preventing fraud and abuse;
  • understanding service performance;
  • protecting our content and systems;
  • responding to enquiries;
  • maintaining appropriate business records;
  • establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.

Where required, we consider the nature of the processing, its necessity and its potential impact on individuals before relying on legitimate interests.

6.4 Legal Obligations

We may process or retain information where necessary to comply with applicable legal obligations, including:

  • accounting requirements;
  • tax obligations;
  • regulatory requirements;
  • lawful requests from competent authorities;

7. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

The REJ.World website may use cookies and similar technologies.

These may include:

  • strictly necessary cookies;
  • functional cookies;
  • preference cookies;
  • analytics cookies;
  • other non-essential technologies where permitted.

Where required by applicable law, visitors are provided with cookie choices such as:

  • Accept
  • Reject
  • Manage Preferences

Where legally required, non-essential cookies and similar technologies are not intended to be activated before the necessary consent has been obtained.

You may change your cookie preferences through the available consent management tools.

Browser settings may also allow you to control or delete cookies, although disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.

8. GOOGLE ANALYTICS

The REJ.World website uses Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors interact with the website.

Depending on configuration, consent choices and applicable law, Google Analytics may process information such as:

  • pages visited;
  • interactions;
  • approximate location;
  • device and browser information;
  • technical identifiers;
  • referral information.

Where consent is legally required, Google Analytics is intended to operate in accordance with the visitor’s consent choices.

Google may process information under its own privacy terms and legal responsibilities.

Because privacy laws in some United States jurisdictions use specific definitions of sale, sharing, targeted advertising or similar concepts, we periodically assess our use of analytics and other technologies in light of applicable law.

9. NEWSLETTER AND ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS

Newsletter subscription is voluntary and separate from:

  • REJ.World account registration;
  • mobile application access;
  • Platinum membership.

We may send newsletters or promotional electronic communications where we have an appropriate legal basis.

For recipients in the United Kingdom or EEA, this may include consent where required.

For recipients in the United States, commercial electronic communications are intended to comply with applicable requirements, including applicable rules concerning sender identification, non-deceptive messaging and unsubscribe mechanisms.

You may unsubscribe at any time by:

  • using the unsubscribe mechanism included in newsletter communications; or
  • contacting support@rej.world.

We will process unsubscribe requests in accordance with applicable law.

Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not automatically:

  • cancel a Platinum membership;
  • delete a REJ.World account;
  • stop essential service-related communications.

10. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS

The REJ.World mobile application may use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications.

Push notifications may include:

  • service information;
  • podcast announcements;
  • content updates;
  • live broadcast information;
  • Platinum-related information;
  • other REJ.World communications.

Depending on your device and operating system, notification delivery may involve technical identifiers associated with the application installation or device.

You may manage notification permissions through your device settings.

REJ.World currently uses Firebase for push-notification functionality and does not intentionally use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Authentication, Firestore or Crashlytics as part of the practices described in this Policy.

If our Firebase usage changes materially, this Privacy Policy should be updated accordingly.

11. INTERNAL PROMOTIONS AND ADVERTISING

REJ.World may promote its own:

  • services;

  • related content.

These promotions may appear through:

  • the website;
  • mobile application;
  • podcasts;
  • live audio;
  • service communications.

REJ.World does not currently operate third-party advertising networks within the website or mobile application.

We do not currently use third-party advertising partners to serve behaviourally targeted advertisements through the REJ.World website or application.

If our advertising practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and take other steps required by applicable law.

Third-party providers may also process information under their own terms, privacy policies and legal responsibilities.

13. WHEN WE DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION

14. SALE, SHARING AND TARGETED ADVERTISING

REJ.World does not currently intend to sell personal information for monetary payment.

We do not currently operate third-party behavioural advertising networks within the REJ.World website or mobile application.

However, some United States privacy laws may define terms such as sale, share, sharing or targeted advertising more broadly than ordinary commercial usage.

Accordingly, where an applicable United States privacy law treats a particular analytics, cookie or third-party disclosure practice as a sale, sharing or targeted advertising activity, eligible users may have the right to opt out of that activity.

Users may:

  • use available cookie preference controls where relevant; or
  • contact support@rej.world to submit a privacy request.

We will assess and respond to such requests as required by applicable law.

We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of children in violation of applicable law.

15. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

REJ.World is operated by SCRIPTEASE LTD. in the United Kingdom and uses service providers that may process information in other countries.

Depending on the services used, personal information may be processed in:

  • the United Kingdom;
  • the European Economic Area;
  • the United States;
  • other countries in which relevant service providers operate.

Where applicable data protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, we seek to rely on appropriate lawful transfer mechanisms, which may include:

  • adequacy regulations or adequacy decisions;
  • approved contractual safeguards;
  • applicable Standard Contractual Clauses;
  • the UK International Data Transfer Agreement;
  • the UK Addendum to appropriate contractual clauses;
  • another lawful transfer mechanism recognised under applicable law.

The exact mechanism may depend on the provider, destination country and applicable law.

When personal information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete or anonymise it, subject to applicable legal obligations and legitimate retention requirements.

Newsletter information may generally be retained until you unsubscribe or otherwise withdraw consent, subject to limited records that may be retained where necessary to:

  • demonstrate compliance;
  • maintain a suppression list;
  • respect your communication preferences.

Published comments may remain available while relevant to associated content unless removed, deleted or otherwise required to be handled differently.

17. ACCOUNT DELETION AND DATA DELETION

  • legal compliance;
  • tax or accounting obligations;
  • fraud prevention;
  • dispute resolution;
  • security;
  • establishment or defence of legal claims.

Deleting an account is not necessarily the same as cancelling a recurring subscription or stopping future payments.

Users should separately ensure that any recurring subscription or payment arrangement is cancelled through the applicable subscription or payment management process.

17.2 Mobile Application Data

Users may request deletion of personal information associated with their use of the REJ.World mobile application by contacting:

support@rej.world

We may need to verify the identity of the requester before completing a deletion request.

Deletion requests do not necessarily require us to delete information that must or may lawfully be retained for:

  • legal obligations;
  • accounting;
  • fraud prevention;
  • security;
  • dispute resolution;
  • legal claims.

Cancelling a subscription or using a “Manage Subscription” function is not the same as requesting deletion of personal data.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third parties.

We encourage users to review applicable privacy information before providing personal information to third-party services.

27. AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING

REJ.World does not currently intend to use personal information to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects on users.
